Update: February 13, 2020: We have updated this post with a new Disney Plus free two-week trial if you purchase a participating Kellogg’s cereal.
Disney Plus is, without a doubt, the biggest launch in the history of the premium streaming service industry. You can now stream not only tons of classic TV shows and movies from the vast Disney library but several original shows and films as well. The price of Disney Plus is also pretty reasonable. It costs $6.99 a month, or $69.99 for an annual subscription. But is there any way to get Disney Plus for free?
Yes! Here are at least four ways to get Disney Plus for free. If we discover any other ways to get the service for free, we will add it to this article.
1. How to get Disney Plus for free: Seven-day trial
This is the simplest way of checking out Disney Plus for free. Just sign up for the service, either with the monthly or annual plan, and you have seven days to try it out for free. Here’s how to sign up for Disney Plus:
- Go to the Disney Plus website on your browser. You will see two subscription choices: one is for $6.99 a month, the other is for $69.99 for an annual subscription. Both offer users a seven-day free trial. Even if you sign up now, November 12, your credit or debit card won’t be charged until November 19.
- Next, create a personal password for your account. Once you have typed that in, tap on “Continue.”
- Now it’s time to put in your payment information. You can either put in your credit/debit card info, or you can use a PayPal account. Once you have filled out the payment info, tap on the “Agree & Continue” box.
- That’s it!
If you decide to dump Disney Plus at any point, just cancel your subscription before the seven-day free trial ends. You should not be charged for the seven days that you use it.
2. One year for free for Verizon wireless and internet customers
Verizon Wireless has announced that unlimited wireless customers will be able to get one year of Disney Plus for free. The specific plans that will have the free year of the streaming service are Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, Above Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, and Start Unlimited. The free year is not available for prepaid plans, nor is it available for business wireless plans.
If you are a new Verizon Wireless customer, you can claim your free year of Disney Plus by creating and signing into your My Verizon account. You can do that either on the My Verizon web site or via the My Verizon app. Once you are signed up you should see the Disney Plus promotion. Click on the Get Disney+ selection and proceed through the normal signup process for the service.
Disney Plus vs Netflix: Which streaming service should you choose?
Today, the battle of Disney Plus vs Netflix begins. The largest entertainment company in the world is directly going up against the most successful premium streaming service.
Until just recently, Disney actually worked with Netflix, giving …
New customers for Verizon’s consumer Fios internet service can also get the free year of Disney Plus. That’s also extended to new and current customers of Verizon’s 5G Home internet service. The bad news? Current Fios internet users are not eligible for the free Disney Plus year.
If you’ve already signed up for Disney Plus and happen to be a Verizon unlimited customer, you can still get that free year. You can enroll for the free offer through Verizon, but it won’t automatically replace your previously purchased subscription. Verizon should send you an email with information about how to manage your pre-purchased Disney Plus subscription.
3. Disney park employees can get Disney Plus for free
If you are employed at one of the Disney parks, like Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida, you will be able to claim a free Disney Plus subscription. According to WDW News Today, those employees (which the company calls “Cast Members”) can claim that free offer starting in January 2020. The offer will be the special bundle that includes Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus in one package. That normally costs $12.99 a month.
Unfortunately, those Cast Members will have to choose between either the free Disney Plus bundle or the Disney Parks Main Entrance Pass. That offer lets employees give free passes to family members and friends to the Disney parks.
4. Delta SkyMiles members can get a two week Disney Plus free trial
If you are a current or new member of Delta SkyMiles, and you travel on certain routes on the airline, there’s good news. You can get Disney Plus for free with a new two week trial period, rather than the standard one-week free trial. You will need to go to a special web page on the Disney Plus site and enter in a code for the free trial. This is just for new Disney Plus members, by the way. In addition, Delta passengers will be able to watch selected Disney Plus content on its in-flight entertainment system.
5. Get a two-week free trial with the purchase of Kellogg’s cereal products
The latest way to get Disney Plus for free comes from Kellogg’s. Yes, the cereal company is offering new US Disney Plus subscribers a free two-week trial with the purchase of participating Kellogg’s cereal products, including Rice Krispies, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Crispix, Apple Jacks, and Corn Flakes. When you purchase one of these cereals, you will need to take a picture of your receipt combined with the box of Kellogg’s cereal you bought within 30 days of your purchase.
Then you go to a special web site, register for free, and upload that picture you just made on the site. You should get a special code in the email you used to register that you can use when you sign up for Disney Plus so you can get that extended two-week free trial. You must purchase the Kellogg’s cereal by March 29th in order to be eligible for this free Disney Plus offer.
